Fire

Big bonfire beneath a starry sky,

candlelight during a powercut throwing back giant flickering shadows of the people around the table,

small and dancing in a mountain camp to keep away the cold.

Comforting in its warm light,

unreal in it's shifting flames that don't seem to occupy space.

The Slug

Silvery trails criss cross over the footpath

testament to long journeys braved

with the danger of being squished by passersby. 

Stars, sky and sun

The continuously shifting clouds 

send the beams of sunlight

dancing on the slopes of the hills. 

Corridors of sunlight 

shift planes between the leaves

and the petals fall like snow.

The darkness outside is glittering 

like a star studded sky with tiny specks of green light. 

it is especially beautiful when they fly over the pond and the water mirrors the flickers.

Walking on a ridge on top of the world

numb with cold, saturated

with the magnificence of the mountains all around

in the blue light of dawn. 

Staring into the deep depths of the blue black sky,

as a gentle breeze ruffles the ground,

and the drifting cloud puffs show and tell the stars.
